Position: Sr. Analyst, Web Development

Bonus - up to 5% of base salary

JOB FUNCTION:
Primary IT function to support HR systems including Kronos. Provides project leadership for software development projects and acquired software projects interfacing with HR managers, HR staff, IT management and peers to define business requirements. Provides advice to the HR function to maximize competitive advantage from use of information technology. Provides day-to-day support and guidance for the HR systems area.

Provides project management, business systems analysis, and implementation of developed or acquired application systems. Implements systems to meet agreed objectives. Trains and educates business personnel in effective use of systems. Provides ongoing support and troubleshooting. Performs software development of application systems utilizing relational database and web technologies.


UNIT FUNCTION:
The Applications Development group of the Information Technology department is responsible for the analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and on going support of web applications

DUTIES:
Freq. %Time

Daily 25% Project Management

-Ability to effectively manage diverse tasks and to establish priorities and meet deadlines and to assist others in accomplishing these tasks.
-Facilitates requirements gathering
-Develops project charters, project plans and monitors projects performance to assure a quality product is completed within budget.
-Effectively communicates to the project team, management, PMO and user base
-Assists and coordinates the preparation of project plans and project justifications.
-Report to peers and management on issues and activities
-Manages onshore and offshore resources to complete development milestones

Daily 35% Analyst
-Coordinates, directs, and monitors tasks of analysts, and software developers. Evaluates business requests and works with the Manager of Web Development to prioritize these requests with the coordinating user group or steering committee
-Analyzes, coordinates and prepares technical specifications
-Properly documents developed solutions and shares knowledge.
-Works with business to capture and document system requirements
-Performs the coordination between the database group, technical support, plant system administrators, and operation staff.
-Coordinate efforts of onshore and offshore resources to meet business requirements

Daily 25% Systems Engineering and Enhancement
-Works with users to understand complex business processes, problems and opportunities, analyze requirements, and produce creative solutions for both new systems and improvements to existing systems.
-Applies disciplined advanced systems development methodologies throughout the process using complex state of the art software development tools.
-Prepares process flow analysis and documentation.
-Configures and thoroughly tests software to meet business requirements and documents issues found
-Coordinates with software developers or completes activities in the development life cycle to ensure that the problems have been resolved and opportunities realized.

Daily 15% System Support
-Provides on-going support to users of application software by answering questions, making changes to software, providing training and understanding the emerging requirements of the business.
-Documents and coordinates issues, opportunities and change requests to applications systems for which he/she is responsible.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
-Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science or commensurate work experience and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
-5+ years IT work experience in a business analyst or software developer role
-2+ years working with MS SQL Server 2000 or 2005 utilizing stored procedures and advanced SQL queries
-2+ years configuring and supporting Kronos Workforce Central timekeeper V5
-1+ years working with Kronos Data Collection Manager and configuring clocks
-2+ years supporting Payroll / Benefits / other HR systems

-Working knowledge of the following skills / areas:
-ASP.Net, HTML, VB.Net, JavaScript
-Visual Studio (2003, 2005)
-MS SQL Server (2000, 2005)
-Source Control: Team Foundation Server or MS SourceSafe

-Understanding of the following skills:
-SharePoint or Portal technologies
-SOA, Java, XML, XHTML, VB, C#, AJAX, IIS, Web Services
-Microsoft Reporting Services
-Adobe Elements
-Software Design, Debugging, Web Development Fundamentals, Documentation, Software Unit Testing, Troubleshooting, and firm understanding and experience with OOP/OOD principles and methodologies.
-Full life cycle hands on web development experience relating to web applications
-Experience with package selection and implementation, a plus
-Project experience working in a team with task leadership in small teams (2 to 5 people)
-Good verbal and written communication skills with a good standard of English if it is not the native language. Should be able to effectively transfer their knowledge to users as required through formal or informal training
-Knowledge of typical business practices in area of specialization and ability to work effectively with local peers, business management and staff. Good knowledge of typical business systems data in the area of specialization and of system tools to exploit and analyze the data for business advantage
-Ability to work in a matrix organizational structure featuring coordination across geographical, functional and business boundaries.
-Self-directed with effective interpersonal skills. Ability to work with product line management and staff as an advisor in business systems use and development
-Ability to quickly solve problems
-Willingness to travel periodically to other Grace locations
